I'm starting this as a means of documenting our happenings a bit better, and although it is more for our reference than anything, I thought I'd make it public cuz blogs seem fun.
Last night we headlined Saltbox in Nottingham, along side some of our favourite local independent artists Kez, Wizards Can't be Lawyers, Ideal Host and Splinter Group. The three of us had been anticipating it for months, it being the biggest show we have ever played and our first time doing a hometown headline for a long while.
A manic week of missed rehearsals and bad coughs all round gave way to a great show, with every band proving that they deserve the attention of that huge room. Our set inevitably came around, and after shakily setting up together we headed to the green room for a beer and a chat with the Kez guys and other friends. Everyone was elevated by great sets all round and the three of us were anxious to get up for ours. Personally, I can easily say that I have never been so close to blowing chunks from nerves before a show, but getting woo'ed on stage hasn't happened before and put a little smile on our faces. The energy was high and amongst crowd surfers and shoulder riders, there were familiar faces and fresh ones. It was easily our best show to date.
The set list was:
An Offer of Love
Big Snake
Jack Let go of the Door
A Song for...
Get Married
Eating Flowers
Wealth
She's Not
ARNOLD 2021
My Baby Left Me
Hugs From Grandma
VR Porn
If you are reading this I'd like to thank you on behalf of the band for your support and I'd like to especially thank James Thornhill, Sam Heaton, Jamie Lawrence, Ed Neale, Marc Reeves, Dan Dibb, Charlotte Rope and all of the artists for helping put the show together.
Next we head to Norway, but we will see you back in Nottingham soon.
